It concluded with several recommendations, most notably the activation and implementation of Security Council resolution 1325 to support women’s participation in peace processes and provide protection and support for women activists in the field of peace, while ensuring their protection from violence and discrimination, in addition to enhancing the role of women in diplomatic mediation and supporting their access to decision-making positions.
This workshop achieves one of the sustainable development goals represented by the fifth and sixteenth goals, which call for gender equality as well as peace, justice, and strong institutions.
