The Department of International Community Research at the Center for Women’s Studies at the University of Baghdad held a scientific symposium entitled “Peaceful Coexistence and its Impact on Political and International Stability” and the head of the International Community Research Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Sinan Salah Rashid, lectured at the symposium, who discussed in his paper “The International Community and Political Stability and International Stability”.
Assistant lecturer Zainab Mohammed Khalaf, also a lecturer in the department, discussed “the conceptual framework of peaceful coexistence and its impact on the stability of the political system.”
The seminar concluded with several recommendations, including reforming laws to ensure justice and equality, in order to enhance national dialogue and understanding between different groups, reduce the economic gap, and achieve social justice. Combating hate speech and extremism in order to achieve peaceful coexistence among all components of society.
This symposium achieves one of the sustainable development goals represented by the sixteenth goal, which calls for peace, justice, and strong institutions.
