The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Baghdad organized a training course entitled “The Role of Modern Technology to Detect Fraud and Administrative and Financial Corruption”, in the presence of a group of specialists and those interested in combating corruption, and during the course in which Assistant Lecturer Maryam Muzahem, Assistant Lecturer Feryal Saleh and Assistant Lecturer Zubaida Saad stressed the importance of using modern technologies in detecting fraud and financial and administrative manipulation and the contribution of these techniques to the analysis of financial and administrative data quickly and accurately, which enables detecting irregularities and manipulations easily and effectively.
The course dealt with the importance of modern technology and its types in combating corruption, and practical applications of technology in combating corruption and the challenges it faces, where practical examples of modern technology applications in combating corruption were presented, such as its use in detecting money laundering and manipulation of government contracts and others, and in return, the challenges facing the use of technology in combating corruption were also discussed, such as the need to train specialized staff, develop technical infrastructure and ensure data protection.
The participants in the course stressed the importance of this course in promoting awareness of the importance of using modern technology in combating corruption and developing the capabilities of specialized cadres in this field and called for the need for concerted efforts between the various concerned authorities to combat corruption and activate the use of modern technologies in this field.
This session achieves one of the sustainable development goals represented by the sixteenth goal, which calls for peace, justice, and strong institutions.
