The Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Gholam Muhammad Ishaq, discussed with the President of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Bahaa Ibrahim Insaf, ways to enhance academic cooperation and support research and educational centers at the university.

The meeting witnessed a discussion of modern mechanisms to support research projects and academic development and reviewed opportunities to strengthen the partnership between the university and international institutions. The deputy representative of the mission stressed the commitment of the United Nations to support the educational sector in Iraq, praising the leading role of the University of Baghdad in developing scientific research and community service.

For his part, the President of the University of Baghdad welcomed this initiative, stressing the importance of cooperation with international institutions to promote an advanced educational environment that meets the needs of students and researchers. It was also agreed to develop joint programs that contribute to developing the capabilities of teaching staff and improving the quality of scientific research.
