The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Baghdad organized a specialized workshop on Islam’s perspective on the art of agriculture, aiming to explore the historical roots of this ancient craft and its role in Islamic civilization.
The workshop covered various aspects of agriculture in Islam, starting with Quranic verses and prophetic traditions that encourage farming, and extending to the practical applications of this art throughout different historical periods. The workshop also highlighted the importance of agriculture in achieving food security, environmental sustainability, and its impact on Islamic communities.
In this context, Dr. Imad al-Deen Abdul Razzaq, the presenter, emphasized that agriculture is not merely a profession but an integral part of Islamic heritage, reflecting Islam’s concern for both humanity and the environment. He added that the workshop aims to revive this heritage and introduce it to new generations.
