The College of Education for Girls, Department of Sociology, held a scientific workshop tagged: (Symbol and Body Language in Iraqi Culture) which was attended by a group of professors, employees, and students of the college, and the workshop was opened by Mr. Hussein Khalil Ibrahim and lectured by both Dr. Walaa Hamed Moussa and the Dr. Mayada Mahmoud Muhammad.
The workshop aims to know the symbols used in Iraqi culture, how to reflect values and traditions, how to use body language in daily communication between individuals in Iraqi society, and to know effective communication skills by understanding symbols and body language.
The workshop reached a set of recommendations, the most important of which is organizing workshops and seminars on cultural symbols and their importance, developing training programs to improve the reading and understanding skills of body language among individuals, and promoting dialogue between different generations to discuss changes in the use of symbols and body language and their impact on cultural identity.
