The Department of Student Activities at the Presidency of the University of Baghdad held an art exhibition to document the Yazidi genocide entitled (Between Terrorism and Humanity), under the auspices of the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, and in the presence of the Dean of the College of Arts, Prof. Dr. Ali Abdul Amir, the Dean of the College of Languages, Prof. Dr. Ali Adnan Mashoush, and the Director of the Student Activities Department, Dr. Ali Sadiq.
The exhibition shed light on the heinous crimes committed against the Yazidis and documented them for future generations, as well as commemorating the victims, reminding the world of the magnitude of the catastrophe that befell this Iraqi component and calling for justice. The exhibition also included a variety of artworks, photographs, and documents that depict the suffering of the Yazidis, document the abuses they were subjected to, and chronicle the tragedies during the genocide.
The attendees praised the importance of holding such events that contribute to shedding light on the crimes committed against minorities, stressing the need to spread awareness of the importance of peaceful coexistence and respect for cultural and religious diversity in Iraqi society.
This exhibition comes to emphasize the role of universities in spreading culture and awareness, contributing to building a more tolerant and respectful society, and urging the international community to assume its responsibilities towards this human tragedy.
