The College of Administration and Economics, Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Department of Business Administration, organized a workshop entitled Green Finance: A Global Trend towards Sustainable Development, presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Walaa Ismail Abdel Latif, a teacher in the department.
The workshop aims to identify the concept of green finance, its importance, the reasons for moving towards green finance, as well as its areas of application, and the possibility of adopting green finance in promoting sustainable development.
The workshop came out with a number of recommendations, including working on enacting policies that enhance environmental sustainability in all sectors and encourage the adoption of green finance policy and actual action to promote the transition towards a green economy and address the phenomenon of climate change, encouraging the growth of environmental awareness and integrating sustainability in the financial sector through the development of new investment products and financial instruments that are environmentally and climate-friendly, stimulating foreign direct investment in high-sustainability sectors, identifying those sectors with electricity, water, construction, mobility, food, waste management, and direct financial markets towards green finance through the establishment of green sovereign wealth funds, enhancing the strength of financial markets, adopting effective reporting and reporting mechanisms, and adopting economic policies and programs in the development of the financial sector in order to In line with environmental changes, which contribute to reducing their effects towards achieving sustainable development goals.
