The Dean of the College of Languages, Prof. Dr. Ali Adnan Mashoush, received Carmen Bojan Freira, the Consul and Deputy Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain in Baghdad, accompanied by the coach of the national football team, Jesus Casas, and the coaching staff of the national team.

The hosting aimed to enhance mutual academic cooperation, which represents a step towards creating a university environment that mixes the scientific aspect by coordinating with the Embassy of Spain to send students on summer training scholarships, as well as encouraging students to practice sports activities and providing sports advice from an international coach in an interactive dialogue session in the presence of a large number of students and professors.”

The hosting witnessed a dialogue session in which Kasas touched on the reality of the sport in Iraq and the importance of university sports as a vital part of the social system of societies, and during the session included inquiries by students in Spanish about supporting the national team to achieve the best results and reach advanced positions.

On the sidelines of the visit, the delegation attended the final match of the College of Languages Championship for five-a-side football between the teams of the Russian and Hebrew language departments, where the students expressed their joy at this visit, which is the first of its kind at the level of Iraqi universities in hosting the coach of the Iraqi national team, Jesus Casas.

At the end of the visit, the delegation expressed their happiness with the cognitive capabilities of the students of the College of Languages, Department of Spanish Language at the distinguished scientific level and their proficiency in the Spanish language with high accuracy, appreciating the efforts of the teaching staff in the department for preparing cognitively capable students.
