The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Baghdad organized a specialized workshop to discuss the latest developments in the subject of combating money laundering and the search for effective mechanisms to combat these crimes that threaten the stability of societies and negatively affect the national economy, in the presence of a group of legal, financial and academic experts.
The workshop aimed to activate the Anti-Money Laundering Law and eliminate financial corruption. The workshop dealt with the importance of strictly applying the Anti-Money Laundering Law, the role of modern technology in combating financial crimes, ways to enhance transparency and integrity in financial transactions, and the role of civil society in combating corruption.
The workshop focused on the importance of cooperation between various government and private institutions in combating money laundering and corruption and the exchange of experiences and knowledge among the participants, as well as highlighting the pivotal role played by colleges and scientific institutes in educating young people about the dangers of these crimes and how to prevent them. This workshop comes within the framework of continuous efforts to combat corruption and enhance transparency and integrity in all institutions.
