Dr. Heba Muhammad Fadel, a teacher in the Department of Information and Communication Engineering at the College of Engineering Al-Khwarizmi at the University of Baghdad, participated in the first specialized conference organized by the University of Warith al-Anbiya (peace be upon him) in cooperation with the University of Kufa, under the title “Social Responsibility of the Academic Institution in Sustainable Development and Societal Advancement.” The doctor presented a research paper entitled “Engendering Universities towards Environmental and Social Awareness to Support the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals”.

The research paper dealt with the effective role of scientific research in universities to spread awareness about environmental and social issues, and how to translate academic research results into societal policies and initiatives that support the achievement of sustainable development goals.

The research aimed to shed light on the role of universities and academic institutions in promoting sustainable development and contributing to the improvement of society through social responsibility. The conference witnessed a wide presence of academics and experts in the fields of sustainable development and sought to enhance cooperation between academic institutions and society to support comprehensive development goals.
