The Council of the University of Baghdad directed the National Center for Population and Demographic Studies at the university to form roving teams of faculty and administrative staff members to organize introductory workshops in the colleges and centers of the university, to enhance awareness of the importance of participating in the next population census.
This step came based on the recommendations of the University of Baghdad Council, which it issued during its previous session, on the formation of joint teams between the University of Baghdad and the Ministry of Planning, to support national initiatives and contribute to the success of the census, which represents a key tool to provide accurate data that contributes to strategic planning and achieving sustainable development.
The University Council stressed that the University of Baghdad is always keen to extend a helping hand and assistance to government agencies and civil society, pointing out that the census is a national responsibility that requires concerted efforts between all parties.
It is noteworthy that the College of Education for Women at the University of Baghdad held an introductory workshop in cooperation with the National Center for Population and Demographic Studies at the university and the Ministry of Planning, in the presence of the official spokesman for the Ministry of Planning, Abdul Zahra Al-Hindawi, and the Director of the Publishing and Promotion Center at the Statistics and Geographic Information Systems Authority, Nidaa Hussein Abdullah, to introduce the mechanism of work of the mobile teams in the national census program.
