Asisst.Prof.Dr. Kawakib Najm al-Din, Director of the Iraqi National Cancer Research Center at the University of Baghdad, chaired the scientific session of the 10th Annual Conference of the Iraqi Fertility Society.The conference was attended by professors and consultants in obstetrics and gynecology from both inside and outside Iraq, as well as specialists in infertility treatment and in vitro fertilization from around the world. Participants discussed the latest global advancements and developments in in vitro fertilization procedures.
Some lectures also addressed cervical and ovarian cancers, highlighting their significance in women’s health and their impact on female fertility and reproductive capability.This activity is part of ongoing efforts to improve healthcare in the fields of fertility and women’s diseases, and to enhance collaboration among various entities to achieve tangible progress in this vital area.
The conference concluded with recommendations emphasizing the need for collaboration with relevant associations to implement early detection programs for cervical cancer. This approach aims to prevent the disease from reaching advanced stages, where surgical treatment is no longer viable and only radiation and chemotherapy remain, which often have negative effects on both the patient’s health and psychological well-being.
On the sidelines of the conference activities, Dr. Kawakib Najm al-Din was honored with the Society’s Shield for her active contribution to the conference, her efforts in the scientific committees, and her participation in discussions on cervical cancer.
