The College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad, in cooperation with the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance in the Presidency of the University, organized a workshop to introduce the procedures of its two magazines (the Journal of Engineering and the Iraqi Journal of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering), in the presence of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ghassan Hamid and Dr. Omar Faleh Hassan, Director of the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance.
The workshop aimed to evaluate and organize the performance of its two magazines before registering to enter the Scopus global repository, and the advisory body praised the work of the two magazines and recommended some amendments to develop the magazine’s website.
Dr. Omar Faleh Hassan reviewed the experience of the Iraqi Journal of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering to raise the performance indicators of the journal required to enter the Scopus repository, and the presentation aims to benefit the rest of the university journals that attended the workshop, and the editorial boards of the two magazines presented the problems facing their work and the roadmap they set to raise the scientific level of the journal.
For his part, the Assistant Dean of the College of Engineering for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Diaa Jassem, expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Advisory Committee of the University of Baghdad Journals for their valuable recommendations and additions to the journal, stressing the work to take and implement all recommendations that would raise the evaluation of the journal to become with similar local, Arab, and foreign journals.
