The College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad has been granted national accreditation by the Iraqi National Commission for Accreditation of Medical Colleges (NCAMC). The college has demonstrated a strong commitment to meeting national standards and procedures established by the National Commission.

Accreditation is a systematic evaluation process of medical colleges based on national and international standards aimed at raising the quality of Iraqi medical college graduates to global levels. The college’s attainment of this accreditation reflects its ambition to achieve international accreditation in the near future. Meeting national accreditation standards ensures the competency of medical college graduates, which directly impacts the quality of medical and healthcare services provided to the Iraqi community.

Prof.Dr. Mohammed Shahab Al-Edani, Dean of the College of Medicine, spearheaded the efforts to obtain national accreditation, supported by the faculty, administrative, and technical staff, who all contributed significant and exemplary efforts. Furthermore, the students and their representatives demonstrated strong commitment alongside supportive entities, including educational hospitals, their administrations, and staff.
