The College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized a series of workshops and scientific sumposiums as part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week, attended by faculty members. The workshop, titled “Digital Applications in Dentistry,” conducted by Dr. Bashar Mohammed Sakan from Medit, focused on introducing the use of the digital scanner and 3D printers in dentistry. The workshop covered the use of the scanner for impressions as an alternative to traditional methods, digital tooth design, and 3D printing of dental molds.

Dr. Nour Mohamed Hassan presented a seminar titled “Development of a Self-Drilling System Containing Nano Particles of Calcium Phosphate for Mineral Reclamation in Orthodontic Bonding.” The seminar aimed to highlight the benefits of calcium phosphate and its potential integration with adhesive materials for orthodontic retainers. It covered an introduction to orthodontic bonding systems for retainers and explored the modification possibilities through adding nano materials to calcium phosphate. This has the potential to enhance mineral reclamation, reduce resinous adhesive materials, positively impacting dental health and appearance. The recommendation emphasized the need for more lectures addressing the importance of mineral reclamation materials in orthodontic treatment.
