Prof. Dr. Zainab Ziad Ismail, a faculty member from the department of environmental engineering at the University of Baghdad has participated recently in the proceedings of the semi-annual conference of the American Chemical Society (ACS) which is a scientific society that supports scientific inquiry in the field of chemistry located in San Diego. She has submitted a research paper (Sustainable treatment approach of actual combined domestic and industrial wastewaters associated with bioenergy generation via three-dimensional MFC).

It is noteworthy that this is a joint paper conducted with the researcher Ahmed Yasser Radeef aimed mainly to study of the effect of coating the anode electrodes within the cell with nano nutrients on increasing the effectiveness of the anode electrode and to provide the appropriate surfaces for the growth of bacteria and obtain an active and effective bacterial tape. This research won great attention and approval of the audience because of the method adopted for design of the biofuel cell and its practical applications for the treatment of mixed wastewater and clean energy production at the same time. The conference witnessed the presentation of (11359) researches submitted by (12566) professors.
