The Quality Assurance Division at the College of Education for Women has organized a scientific symposium entitled (Environmental Reality in Iraq: Environmental Pollution and Its Impact on Health) via Google Meet platform where nine working papers were presented by the participating professors that addressed the environmental reality in the country and its serious repercussions affecting the economic, psychological and development conditions of individuals and community as a whole. Also the researchers discussed the environmental agreements concluded by Iraq with other countries and the extent of achievements carried out to solve this global problem.
Then the participants submitted a number of seminar concluded with recommendations, including activating the Green Belt Project for Baghdad Province, which acts as a source of sticky dust bumpers and soil stabilizer, in addition to the establishment of external roads around cities, especially in Baghdad to reduce traffic jams that contribute to air pollution, to constantly raise awareness of the opening of windows and doors to improve the air current inside homes, reducing the use of scented detergents, air fresheners and pesticides, dispose of waste properly and not keep them at home for a long time and increase the awareness of housewife about the problems of garbage and its effect on the environment and on the psychological mood of family members and activating the role of responsible authorities to punish the owners of factories that throw their waste in water and rivers, reduce the use of fertilizers and pesticides in green areas, reduce deforestation that exposes the soil to drought and erosion, as well as e-waste recycling in the right way.
