Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, rector of the University of Baghdad has inaugurates two biological laboratories at the college of veterinary medicine and Al-Nahrain University specialized in the fields of immunity and bacteriology, in cooperation with the ministry of higher education and scientific research and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education for Administrative Affairs Assist. Prof. Dr. Ali Hameed Kazim. This initiative aimed to develop studies to detect biological risks, security and safety matters at work and to ensure a safe environment for researchers as well as to support Iraqi research projects in general. It is noteworthy that this project is part of the U.S. grant that equipped our laboratories with the latest equipment to support integrated and applied research, in addition to reduce the threats of toxic substances and transmission of viruses and bacteria in environment.
