Assist. Prof. Dr. Shaimaa Fadhil Abdul Hamid al-Anbaki from the department of history at the college  of education for women has participated in cooperation with the Iraqi University Channel of the ministry of higher education and scientific research in the preparation of a historical documentary on the civilization of ancient Iraq as part of the celebration of the centenary of the establishment of the Iraqi state established by the ministry.

During her speech, she addressed the phases of the ancient civilizations of Iraq across the time from the dawn of the dynasties to the history of the modern Babylonian state, then she hinted to the emergence of cuneiform writing since the Sumerian era and the economic aspects of Iraq through its ancient history, interest in law, the Code of Hammurabi that is the most prominent cultural figure, the interest in literature vivid in the Epic of Gilgamesh, the story of Babylonian creation, the story of the Sumerian flood, interest in astronomy and astrology, and the need for minerals & mining, interest in urbanization, construction of Ziggurats, the Ishtar Gate as well as the Hanging Gardens of Babylon.
