A number of students of the University of Baghdad, in cooperation with a group of cultural institutions, have organized the annual festival on the anniversary of the birth of the Awaited Imam Mahdi (Ajjallahu Ta’ala Farajahush Shareef), in the presence of the professor in the Najaf Estate His Eminence Sayyid Rashid al-Husseini and the assistant rector for administrative affairs Assist. Prof. Dr. Sarmad Fouad al-Ansari. The celebration, which came under the slogan “The Expected Son”, aimed at spreading the Islamic culture, renewing its contents, promoting dialogue between people, as well as demonstrating the role of the popular mobilization forces in confronting terrorism in conjunction with the anniversary of the fatwa of jihad. The ceremony included several cultural events, including honoring a number of orphans, a book fair and a charity bazaar whose returns are allocated for orphans, as well as an intellectual competition on Imam Mahdi (PBUH).
