The department of biology, in cooperation with the educational guidance unit at the college of science has organized an interesting festival in conjunction with the celebrations of the International Women’s Day, in the presence of the rector of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi and his assistant for administrative affairs, Assist. Prof. Dr. Sarmad Fouad and dean of the college, Prof. Dr. Abdul Kareem al-Qazzaz. The participants asserted that women are the true partners of men in society and that their great role is very vivid through the ages everywhere.
The ceremony was attended by the assistant dean for administrative affairs and students, where various speeches were delivered in which the professors stressed the role of Iraqi women in challenging all difficulties and standing side by side with her brothers in the country giving more support for people in all fields of life. On the sidelines of the festival, an art exhibition was inaugurated by the rector where many paintings and handicrafts were made by students of the department of biology that embodied women’s merit in community and university at all levels, and to pay tribute to their active and influential role.
