The Sports Activity Unit at the college of engineering at the University of Baghdad, in cooperation with the Society of Petroleum Engineers, has organized the opening of the first football championship of SPE University of Baghdad Chapter between the fourth and the second grades of the department of petroleum engineering. The aim of the tournament was to prepare the students of the department before graduation as one of their extracurricular activities. The tournament consisted of eight games, quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals. The rector of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, praised such events and stated when attending the match with the dean of the college Prof. Dr. Saba Jabbar Neime, that sports is part of the scientific messages and sports skills known to our university.
