Under the auspices of His Excellency the minister of higher education and scientific research, Prof. Dr. Nabeel Kazim Abdul Sahib, a University Basketball Championship for the Central Region was held with the participation of the Universities of Baghdad, Mustansiriyah, Al-Rafidain University College, Baghdad College Of Medical Sciences, AL-Esraa University College and Al-Rasheed University College).
The first match witnessed the competition of the teams of the University of Baghdad and the University of Information Technology and Communications (UOITC) at the stadium of the college of physical education and sports sciences in Jadriyah, resulting into the victory of our team that recorded “105” points against “11” points for the other one, where the fingerprints of the coach Prof. Dr. Muhannad Abdul Sattar was very vivid in this event. The opening of the tournament was attended by the assistant rector for administrative affairs Assist. Prof. Dr. Sarmad Fouad Jaber and dean of the college Prof. Dr. Sabah Qassim Khalaf, director of the department of student activities at the university’s presidency, Assist. Prof. Dr. Sarmad Saeed, the assistant dean for scientific affairs, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Abdul Hussein Attia, head of the Team Games Branch Prof. Dr. Khulood Laidh Abdul Kareem, as well as the Council Secretary of the college Assist. Prof. Dr. Farqad Abdul Jabbar and a large gathering of professors and students.
