The College of Media at the University of Baghdad has ranked the first place in the results of the Iraqi Ranking for Universities (IRU) 2022, according to a report issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The departments of journalism, radio & television and public relations have got the first place after competition with other Iraqi universities by representing the corresponding disciplines.

The dean of the college, Prof. Dr. Ammar Taher, has congratulated heads of scientific departments, faculty members, staff and students in this occasion, which was the result of determined efforts, diligence and perseverance of the work and a well-thought-out practical plan implemented with high accuracy by the competent committees and quality assurance in the college. The specialists in the Quality Assurance Department of the Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation Directorate related to the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Directorate at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research have conducted a comprehensive assessment of (83) government and private educational institutions in the country spread over (36) government universities, (47) private colleges and universities, (875) specialized colleges and (1729) scientific departments in order to upgrade the academic institutions in the country.
