Israa Salman Abdul Rahman, an employee from the Department of Faith at the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Baghdad, has participated in a symposium held by the Parliamentary Development Institute entitled “Women’s Rights between International Legislation and Conventions” under the auspices and presence of the Secretary General of the Iraqi Parliament, Prof. Dr. Sirwan Ismail. The lecturer proposed a number of targeted proposals, including the establishment of rehabilitation courses in Iraqi courts before marriage and the introduction of the rights and duties of spouses, as well as the addition of ethics to the curriculum in the ministries of education, including women’s rights, as well as other proposals that would preserve women’s rights in full and protect them from any harm.
