The Center for Educational and Psychological Research at the University of Baghdad has organized a workshop entitled “Violence causes, harms and proposed solutions” delivered by the head of the educational research department at the center, Prof. Dr. Huda Mohammed Salman.

The workshop explained that the violence is irrational behavior due to a compound of opposing tendencies and interests that cause to some extent the dissolution of the group itself and that in many cases repressive behavior and in conjunction with the process of disorder of the system, pointing to the causes of domestic violence of unemployment and the weakness of the economy and some visual media that the human used to watch violence while maximizing the heroes of these scenes and this causes damage at all psychological, social, behavioral, educational and health levels. The workshop came up with a number of recommendations, including emphasizing the principles of citizenship, tolerance and peace, rejecting violence in all its forms, combating extremism and emphasizing human rights. This lecture was held based on several recommendations presented by the joint meeting of the National Committee against the Extremism of Violence at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
