Al-Ayen University in Dhi Qar has awarded the Distinguished Iraqi Researcher Medal for the assistant rector for administrative assistant at the University of Baghdad Assist. Prof. Dr. Sarmad al-Ansari in a ceremony launched for this purpose along with 7 most creative researchers in all disciplines in accordance with specific scientific controls set up by a scientific committee that is consisted of some prominent academic figures from various Iraqi universities.
The aim of this event, that was held under the slogan “Scientific research is the bright face of Iraq”, in conjunction with the occasion of the Teacher’s Day and sponsored by the rector of Al-Ayen University, Prof. Dr. Shafiq Shaker Shafiq, is to encourage researchers and motivate them to increase their excellence and scientific competition so as to raise the level of scientific research outputs in Iraqi universities in quantity and quality, as well as to encourage publication in sober scientific journals to achieve more citations at the local, regional and international levels. Also the dean of the college of science Prof. Dr. Abdul Kareem al-Qazzaz and a number of professors of the University of Baghdad were honored in this academic and cultural event.
