Dr. Ali Kamel al-Shalji, dean of the college of medicine at the University of Baghdad has recently received Dr. Salman al-Rawaf, the professor of public health medicine in Britain and the director of the World Health Organization Collaborating Center at the Imperial College London in UK. The visit included holding a meeting with the assistant dean for administrative affairs, Assist. Prof. Dr. Ameen Abdul Hassan Manei al-Alwani, the members of the college council, heads of branches of the accreditation committee and the director of quality assurance department to address the main foundations and practical steps that the college must adopt in order to obtain international accreditation. At the conclusion of this visit, the guest made a tour in the corridors of the college from which he had graduated in 1971, where he expressed his comfort and happiness in this occasion and thanked the dean, faculty members and staff for the generous hospitality they showed and for their sincere efforts towards raising and developing the medical academic march in Iraq.
