Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, rector of the University of Baghdad, has opened up one of the new buildings of Al-Salam Student Housing Complex (No. 9), accompanied by the director of dormitories at the ministry of higher education and scientific research Dr. Hamid Shaker and the assistant rector for administrative affairs, Assist. Prof. Dr. Sarmad al-Ansari, as well as the director of dormitories at the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Omar Faleh Hassan and other figures.
In his speech, the rector praised the efforts made for the rehabilitation of the building and that were exerted by the engineering staff of the department of reconstruction and projects under direct supervision and follow-up of Dr. Omar Faleh so as to finish work within one week, and to provide all the supplies needed by students during their residence in this complex, stressing that the university has already opened up another building at the college of veterinary medicine and was ready to receive more than 400 students, after being neglected for many years. It is noteworthy that Dr. Munir al-Saadi has also honored the director of the department of reconstruction and projects at the university’s presidency Prof. Dr. Hatim Khalifa in acknowledgement of his role in directing the engineering staff to rebuild specific buildings nominated for restoration, as well as honoring a number of engineers and craftsmen who left a distinguished technical and administrative imprint in the rehabilitation processes via coordination with the ministry of electricity to solve all problems related to 24-hour electricity supply.
