Prof. Dr. Abdul Karim Abdul Razzaq, dean of the college of science at the University of Baghdad has recently received the dean of Madenat Alelem University College, Assist. Prof. Dr. Saeed Salman an the delegation representing this private Iraqi university established in 2005 in Baghdad, so to discuss the prospects for joint scientific and academic cooperation as well as the possibility of signing an agreement of understanding for promoting the academic twinning between the two sides.
The deans exchanged talks about the academic history of these two colleges, namely their scientific departments, curricula, nature of study there in addition to openness to international research institutions with the aim of exchanging experiences and promoting coordination at the local and regional levels. The meeting was attended by the assistant dean for scientific affairs, Prof. Dr. Khalid Jaber Kazim and head of the department of biology, Prof. Dr. Jabbar Farhan al-Maathidi from Madenat Alelem University College, who confirmed the joint readiness to prepare the terms of an agreement of twinning after obtaining the related approvals for the ministry of higher education and scientific research, stressing that this project would include postgraduate supervision, many other joint research and educational programs, particularly cooperation in supporting sober scientific research that would be published by the journal of the faculty of science, concerned with various academic disciplines in the common interest, especially in life sciences. It is worth mentioning that the college of science seeks to deepen its overall educational relations with various universities, reflecting the vision of the University of Baghdad in enhancing its contribution on the local and international academic scene, which reflects positively on its career and achieves the interest of its professors and students, enhancing their knowledge and skills, so as to be a key starting point for all scientific disciplines in the Iraqi universities.
