The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Women at the University of Baghdad held a lecture for the female students of undergraduate studies entitled “Fitness and career in the use of air rifles” delivered by the lecturer at the Individual Games Branch, Assist. Prof. Dr. Ghusoon Natiq al-Wadi. The lecturer aimed to demonstrate the importance of fitness for the individual in general as the broad base that can serve as the backbone of all sports activities and at all stages as they build on the sporting result during competitions and races for the purpose of achieving advanced sports achievements.
The lecturer divided the physical preparation in this game into two parts: the general preparation, which aims to develop the physical ability of the player because he develops muscles strongly, as well as his contribution to improving the functions of the internal organs of the body, while the second represents the special preparation, which is the preparation directed towards the implementation of many duties such as the development of important physical qualities for these events such as strength and prolonged in most muscle groups. She pointed to the most important physical requirements in the effectiveness of shooting with air weapons represented by constant muscle strength, muscular endurance, constant balance, explaining at the same time functional requirements that represent the nervous system because it is the leading in the effectiveness of shooting, as one of the most important things to rely on in the nervous system is the sense of emptiness, speed of response and neuro-muscular compatibility, as well as the functional requirements of the respiratory & circulatory system, which includes pulse and vital capacity.
