The college of nursing, represented by its faculty members, has participated in a conference organized under the slogan (Childhood and Sustainable Development: Investing in the Future of Iraq) and held at the college of education for women in cooperation with UNICEF, where the head of the maternal and newborn nursing branch, Assist. Prof. Dr. Hawraa Hussein Ghafal, presented a research paper entitled “Traditional unsafe practices in the treatment of newborns among mothers in Iraqi community” in which she addressed all topics related to childhood in Iraq and problems suffered by children such as poverty, disease and low level of education.
