The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Islamic Sciences, in collaboration with the Department of Islamic Civilization, held a workshop entitled “Human rights according to Imam Ali (peace be upon him), presented by the head of the Department of Islamic Civilization and Antiquities, Prof. Dr. Khalil Hassan al-Zargani and Dr. Najat Ali Tamimi.
The workshop showed that the rights according to the Prince of Believers Imam Ali (PBUH), is a legal pillar in the system of social relations, the Muslim is responsible for the rights of others, including the right of parents, wife, son, teacher, the educator, friend, but the right of God is the broad circle that includes the right of society, it is not separate from the rights of the people, but it belongs to the rights of the people, not the other way around. “God has made the rights of his servants a prelude to his rights,” he said. Then the lecturers extensively clarified the types of rights, namely personal, economic, social, political, religious and judicial. The workshop concluded that imam Ali’s concept of human rights (peace be upon him) was combined with the rights of the nation, respecting human rights and preserving only in the society of truth, freedom and social justice, adding that Imam Ali’s model of defending human rights goes beyond Muslim society to include all people.
