The Center for Urban and Regional Planning for Graduate Studies at the University of Baghdad has organized a competition for the master’s students for the best design of a residential locality made with modern international concepts in Baghdad in the presence of the assistant rector for scientific affairs, Prof. Dr. Marwan Abdul Hameed Ashour.
The competition was based on 7 construction plans that were in real designed according to the planning of al-Obaidi area east of Baghdad, whereas the postgraduate students depended on adopting international standards consistent with sustainable development in terms of energy provision, solar cell adoption, economic housing and other environmentally friendly materials. The director of the center confirmed that the winning scheme in this competition will be submitted to the relevant authorities for adoption in future, as well as awarding others financial prizes and books of thanks and appreciation to others.
