The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Islamic Sciences held an online training workshop entitled “Human rights according of Imam Ali (PBUH), delivered by the Secretary General of the forum for dialogue and coexistence Mr. Saleh al-Hakim, and the lecturer at the College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad, Dr. Ghassan al-Saad.

Dr. Ghassan al-Saad at first defined the term of rights and then talked about the virtue of Imam Ali and his respect to all rights, since the people, including wives and sincere companions have the right to object, adding that the seed of the right to object began in the time of the Great Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him). Mr. Saleh al-Hakim also showed respect for the rights to owning land in Islam, including the right of the people of the covenant and the infidel, and how Islamic law sought to secure these rights, in commitment to the traditions of the Messenger of God: “He who hurts a dhimmi hurts me”.
