The Center for the Revival of Arab Scientific Heritage has organized a workshop entitled “Websites and their impact on the Arab manuscript”. The workshop was chaired by the head of the manuscripts department at the center, Assist. Prof. Dr. Wassan Hussein Mohimed, where the first research was presented by Mr. Haidar Kazim al-Jubouri from the General Secretariat of Imam Ali Holy Shrine who spoke about our time and the tremendous technological development that became a living reality that spares us time and effort because there are many means to facilitate scientific and research matters that were asking us previously to research and explore for a long time.

The second research was delivered by the director of the Library of Um al-Baneen (peace be upon her) Asmaa Raad al-Abadi from the General Secretariat of the Abbasid Holy Threshold who spoke about the websites as considered one of the most important issues necessary for employing the possibilities of computer and information systems. She also added that there are many justifications that called for the transformation of the digital society, including economic, including professional, geographical and temporal, pointing out the importance of protecting the Arabic manuscript from extinction and protecting the manuscript from damage and loss and the need to make catalogues of manuscripts. The conclusion of the workshop was with  paper presented by the official of the manuscript indexing unit at the Center for the Photography and Indexing of Manuscripts at the Holy Abbasid Threshold Mr. Ahmed Mohammed Al-Abboudi, speaking about the importance of websites that contain a large collection of manuscripts with nearly 70,000 titles, including international magazines and local journals.
