Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, rector of the University of Baghdad has recently received in his office the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Iraq, Mr. Fazlul Bari and a delegation from the University of Dhaka. The two sides discussed the prospects for scientific and research coordination between the universities of Dhaka and Baghdad in order to strengthen relations as well as to enhance scientific cooperation and exchange of experiences among scholars. For his part, the rector expressed the willingness of the university to offer 10 scholarships (master’s and doctoral degrees) to Bangladeshi university students in medicine, engineering and science. The delegation also visited the central library to keep abreast with its publications and discussed the possibility of opening up a Bangladesh pavilion in the central library similar to the Chinese and Indian pavilions there in addition to holding academic and cultural symposiums in celebration of the Independence Day of Bangladesh.
