The Maternal and Neonatal Nursing Branch, in collaboration with the continuing education unit at the college of nursing has organized an electronic seminar on “Unsafe Abortion” via Google Meet platform in the presence of a number of faculty members that is presented by Assist. Prof. Dr. Hawraa Hussein Ghafil.
The seminar aimed to review an introduction to unsafe abortion and its incidence around the world, where 25 million women around the world are estimated to be subjected to unsafe abortions, as well as to clarify the factors that lead to such cases and their complications on women’s lives. Dr. Hawraa Hussein also recommended that women should be aware of their right to use appropriate family planning methods to avoid unwanted pregnancies, resulting in abortion, in addition to the risk of performing it in places that lack minimally proper medical procedures or by inexperienced individuals.
