Assist. Prof. Dr. Ammar Basim Saleh al-Yasiri, a faculty member from the department of Islamic sciences at the University of Baghdad has published recently a research paper entitled “Islamic civilization and its role in promoting the values of citizenship” in the Researcher Journal of Islamic Sciences, published by the college of Islamic sciences at the University of Fallujah.
In his research, Dr. Ammar al-Yasiri sought to demonstrate the great impact of civilization as a human activity in various fields such as science, literature and arts, as well as the emerging tendencies capable of formulating different lifestyles, behavioral patterns and different approaches of thinking. The research’s plan can be summarized as an introduction and two chapters the first of which addressed the definitions related to this subject matter, while the other addressed the impact of Islamic civilization in particular in promoting the idea of citizenship, and finally the conclusion in which the researcher outlined the most important findings of his study in this regard.
