The college of physical education and sports sciences for women at the University of Baghdad held a seminar entitled “The impact of the use of Sakio Bika training for the development of some physical and motor abilities and defensive skills of youth basketball players” delivered by master’s student Rasha Hameed.
The aim of this event was to introduce this concept as one of the modern complementary training methods used at present in a range of sports events and competitions that require high motor fitness, where the lecturer pointed out that this term refers to speed, agility, and quickness (SAQ) training that requires skilled and planned physical abilities that work to raise the efficiency of players and prepare them for competitions. In conclusion, the lecturer shed light on the impact of this kind of training in playing basketball as being one of the collective sports that needs a high physical effort according to the specificity of the game characterized by speed, strength and agility in which the player should use both his/her wisdom and physical ability to win a game.
