As part of the sports curriculum of the Student Activities Department at the Supervisory and Evaluation Agency of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the events of the Fustal Championship for the Central Region have started on Tuesday, January 3, 2022 hosted by Mustansiriyah University on the stadiums of the Faculty of Basic Education for 10 days.
The tournament was preceded by holding a technical preparatory conference on Monday 2 at 4:00 p.m. at Shahid Al-Muharab Hall in the presence of heads of delegations and representatives of the participating universities to agree upon some organizational matters rector of Mustansiriyah University, Prof. Dr. Hamid Fadel al-Tamimi. Teams were divided into two groups (A and B) with the participation of 21 teams. The teams of the University of Baghdad and Mustansiriyah University were part of Group B whose games played on the courts of the Faculty of Basic Education, while Group A played on the courts of the Ministry of Youth and Sports near Al-Shaab International Stadium. On the first day of the tournament, our team defeated that of the College of Information Technology of the University of Babylon (5-0), while Mustansiriyah University’s team won over Al-Rafidain University College. It is noteworthy that tomorrow, our Fustal team will play with Al-Salam University College at 1:00 p.m.
