The center for the revival of Arab scientific heritage at the University of Baghdad has organized a workshop entitled “The punishment of honor killing and its impact on society” delivered by the Prof. Dr. Anas Ismail. He tried to explain this behavior as being the murder of an individual, either an outsider or a member of a family, by someone seeking to protect what they see as the dignity and honor of their family where this phenomenon spreads especially in Arab communities, as result of the rule of tribal custom and cultural heritage over science, culture and religion, so it is very important to study its repercussions on the moral aspect in any communities in line with the customary and tribal extremism to get rid of the pressures of tribal society, adding that this phenomenon prevails when masculinity prevails in nations, whereas men do not be subject to washing shame.
