The consultant neurosurgeon Dr. Munir Khamas Faraj, a professor and physician at the college of medicine was able to invent a surgical device used in transnasive skull base endoscopy in cooperation with an Iraqi medical team and obtained a patent from the Central Organization For Standardization And Control Quality at the ministry of planning. This patent approved the possibility of manufacturing and producing this surgical tool in agreement with local companies in the country. It is worth mentioning that the machine was made locally of stainless steel where the container of the textile sample was made of glass with a 280 mm arm connected to a glass container so as to collect tissues with a diameter of 20 mm also connected from the back with an arm of 10 mm quarter circle, that can be used in narrow and deep places that is very difficult to reach at in skull base surgeries, brain or spine endoscopes and neurological surgery usually called Keyhole Surgery.
