The Engineering and Industrial Applications Branch of at the Laser Institute for Postgraduate Studies held a scientific seminar entitled (The prospects in the study of plasmonics and their applications) chaired by the head of the branch Assist. Prof. Dr. Tahrir Safaa Mansour. This event included several lectures: the first was delivered by the director of the scientific affairs unit, Assist. Prof. Dr. Shelan Khusraw Tawfiq entitled (Quantum Plasmas) in which she talked about this discipline as one of the most important applications of plasma technology in quantum optics that is a technology based on the generation of plasmon as a quantum of plasma oscillation. The second lecture was given by Dr. Maytham Sabri Jaber from the ministry of science and technology, entitled (Trends towards plasma communications), while the third one was delivered by the lecturer Dr. Rasha Hashim Mahdi, a faculty member from the department of laser engineering and optical electronics at al-Nahrain University who talked about (Biomedical applications of nanoscience) in which he gave at first an introduction to nanoparticles and how to use them in the phenomenon of plasmonics, the method of manufacturing nanoantenna and its applications.
