Under the auspices of the dean of the college of science for women Dr. Samira Naji Kazim and head of the department of biology Dr. Huda Suhail, the University of Baghdad has organized a workshop on the environmental protection and plastic waste recycling under direct supervision of the head of the quality assurance division and the specialist in life sciences, Assist. Lecturer Juan Khaled Humoud, with the participation of a number of students at the department. This practical experience was conducted in the botanical garden at the department in order to study the importance of recycling plastic waste such as cans and food utensils and transforming them into pieces of art used to decorate houses as forms of interior designs that may reflect artistic taste and activate creative behaviors of females and at the same time support the cleanliness and protection of environment in general. The lecturer also encouraged students to perform such outdoor activities and initiatives which would develop the culture of cooperation among them and develop teamwork in the community as a whole.
