The department of chemistry, in collaboration with the continuing education unit at the college of science has recently organized a workshop entitled “The seven strategies pursued by academic researchers for the purpose of marketing research and establishing their own brand” in the presence of a number of faculty members, researchers and postgraduate students.
The workshop was chaired by the lecturer Jalal Nasser who aimed to identify the societal impact on research undertaken in all disciplines, and the importance of directing scholars to try to shape their own brand so as to enforce a community impact, as well as to enhance the status of the scientific journals of the University of Baghdad in international rankings. The lecturer asserted that the quality of academic research may have an economic and social reflection and propose effective mechanisms to coordinate efforts between research and production plans to invest the results of scientific research in the service of our country, and draw attention to the Iraqi competencies in addition to contribution in developing a scientific plan to reform the mechanisms adopted in scientific research by exchanging experiences and procedures appropriate to market scientific research outputs and invest them for the common good.
