The college of pharmacy at the University of Baghdad has organized an electronic workshop entitled “Advanced imaging of bioluminescence and fluorescence and Analyses” chaired by Assist. Prof. Dr. Fatima Jalal from the Pharmaceutical Branch with the participation of the lecturer Dr. Amir Sabah Sahib from Babil Health Directorate via Zoom platform.

The workshop discussed the importance of advanced imaging of bioluminescence in the living body of mice as an effective way to determine the effectiveness of drugs developed or pharmaceutically manufactured in this regard and the response of laboratory mice to treatment and the courses of diseases such as cancer growth and the safety of developed drugs and their mechanisms of action. The participants also analyzed this mechanism that refers to the enzymatic generation of light visible by living organisms where this phenomenon is present in the types of bacteria, fungi, marine creatures and insects, also generated by cancer cells encoded by the enzyme gene that generates light in sensitive charged CCD cameras.
