The college of pharmacy at the University of Baghdad has organized an electronic workshop entitled “Drug likeness in drug discovery” delivered by the lecturer at the Assist. Lecturer Sahar Mohammed Shaker from the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Branch via the Zoom platform.
The workshop aimed to discuss the process of discovering and developing expensive drugs for cancer used in different stages of clinical testing and how to increase the likelihood of rapidly finding and developing high-quality compounds. A variety of multifactoral guidelines have been developed according to updates research where the concept of drug similarity has been proposed to provide a useful guidance during the early stages of drug discovery adopted in pharmaceutical companies that often spend millions of dollars to develop a new drug through clinical trials and so on, therefore, any failure in the later stages of drug development usually leads to significant economic losses.
