The Baghdad Documentation Department at the center for the revival of Arab scientific heritage at the University of Baghdad has organized a workshop entitled “Evaluating fiscal policies and their role in reducing corruption” chaired by Dr. Khameel Shaker al-Jamali. The workshop included also a lecture delivered by the professor at the college of administration and economics Assist. Prof. Dr. Safwan Qusay Abdul Alim on the financial policies, in which he talked about corruption as a deadly scourge found in all times, societies, and that has become a prominent feature of the modern era, despite its origins from the emergence of the human race.

The lecturers hinted that the records showed that financial and administrative corruption is much lower in countries with a strong economy and a high standard of living while rising at significant rates in developing countries in general, with a particularly low standard of living, as evidenced by many aspects of administrative political corruption, such as bribery, staff idleness, poor productivity, widespread nepotism and mediation and increased red tape (excessive routine), as well as the complexity of procedures in the implementation of transactions.
